Tea Tasting

Friday, March 1, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. It will be held prior to the Healing Circles

3 hot teas and 2 cold brews will be offered:

Hot teas:

Nepal Shangri-La Gold (organic) This black tea offers an enchantment of flavors from the Nepal mountains.

It is grown in Ilam, Nepal at about 1800m (5900ft) elevation at the bottom of Mt. Kanchanjunga, the third highest peak of the world and in close proximity to Darjeeling. The Himalayan terroir and harsh climates result in slow leaf growth and help create complex aromas and notes of tropical fruits. This tea contains a profusion of golden tips and offers a bouquet of caramel, malt, muscatel, honey and peach notes in a medium body.

Winter Rooibos Chai An orange spicy rooibos chai with bright basil and lemongrass, it offers a bright and delightful dimension to a well-known classic.

This South African bush from Cederberg has long been known for its benefits and fine taste. Ruby colored, sweet and aromatic, Rooibos is naturally free of caffeine and can be consumed all day.

Monastery Garden Tisane A relaxing body and mind tisane with the benefits of a well-tended medicinal garden, omnipresent in monasteries, teeming with aromatic and medicinal salves. This floral tea includes varieties chosen for centuries in these gardens and is very soothing (apple, lavender, rose petals, peppermint) and is naturally caffeine-free.

There will be displayed samples of Golden Turmeric Chai, a spicy turmeric Chai black tea crafted following the Ayurvedic tradition with the earthy spiciness of turmeric that adds an invigorating kick to this especially complex chai blend.

Cold Brew (a tea steeped overnight in cold water and excellent for the summer months!)

Morrocan Mint As invigorating as it is refreshing, this crisp mint tea is rounded out with the clean and bold aroma of Chinese Gunpowder green tea

Tropical Orchard White (organic) The classic pairing of silky white peony tea with sweet, earthy pear gains a juicier dimension with the subtle addition of mango.

For Clair, tea represents purity and harmony. It helps her be mindful and take the time to enjoy the beauty of nature and life. Each cup of tea nourishes her because it contains the five elements of nature.

Sound Journey with Michael Burke for Thanksgiving

November 24th, Saturday
6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Do you have family in town for Thanksgiving? Bring them in for a special treat. Join us at Peachtree Yoga Center for a Sound Journey with Michael Burke, a sacred sound artist, poet, and a vibrational therapist to take us on a sound journey. This is how Michael himself describes the sound journey:
“Shall we bathe in the unlimited grace of this incredible universe…
touch God through our cells as they vibrate immaculately.
What are you vibrating back to a universe that is dancing with your every cell…
your every fiber… your every string.
Take some time and bathe in this liturgy of limitless love.”

Participants are encouraged to lie down in a comfortable position for them, and are expected to do nothing… This is a time of BEing, not DOing…This is a space where the ability to receive is highly accentuated and we tap into the Divine Consciousness flowering through our every Breath as human beings.. Not human doings.. To unplug for an hour and a half is good for the entire system.. this subtle, yet powerful act of surrendering and allowing creates an energetic flow where homeostasis happens naturally and the feel-good chemicals of our systems are released, so that as we experience the rebuilding of our selves for the 90 minutes we are involved in this, we are rebuilt in a state of Divine health and harmonious communication between the systems that create us and what is created…
Relax, Release, Rejuvenate!!!

Come join Michael at Peachtree on November 24th  6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 11th, Restorative Yoga with Elizabeth (Nix) Smith

Our society tends to overemphasize activity and busyness, creating physical and mental stress. The effects of stress have reached epidemic proportions in this country. Chronic stress can result in an imbalance within our nervous system, which can lead to a host of physical illnesses, both major and minor. Even our yoga practice can often perpetuate an imbalance as we focus always on the doing rather than simply being.

Taking the time each day to relax and renew is essential to living well. Restorative yoga is a useful way of healing one’s body, mind and soul, and of achieving the ultimate aim of yoga – wholeness. Supported by various props and guided through deep breathing and meditative awareness, one experiences the yoga postures as profoundly relaxing and deeply rejuvenating. Or as stated in classical yoga philosophy, a practice that is at once steady and comfortable – the practice of being.

As we emerge from the heaviness of winter into the lightness of spring, please join Elizabeth Nix for this supportive, nurturing afternoon.
