A Yoga Retreat with Ilona Moore

Reawaken Your Spirit & Surrender to the Divinity Within

Join me, December 14th – 21st, at Casas Kismet, a boutique retreat center in Nosara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

We tend to live lives on a fast track, and though there is nothing wrong with such a lifestyle, it does tend to require a lot of energy, which we forget to replenish. Allow yourself to shed layers of fatigue and stress and embrace peace, nature, yoga practices, including meditation to nourish your Soul.

Yoga Classes will be offered daily to reawaken our body to the amazing experience of nature around us. Some days we will want to take it slow and practice Restorative Yoga to balance the nervous system.

Meditation will be introduced, taught and practiced daily (support will be offered after the retreat as well.)

You do not need to be a yogi or a meditator, the practices will be suitable for all: newbies and experienced practitioners. Meditation will be taught and practiced daily.)

Casas Kismet is a beautiful place owned by Terry and Lizzy who are wholeheartedly dedicated to providing the best experience to you. The retreat center is nestled on top of a quiet ridge in Playa Pelada, which provides a private and exclusive space for our group to experience transformation in an intimate setting, while remaining close enough to the beach, shops, and restaurants.  Our group will have an entire venue to ourselves, which is rare for the retreat centers! The Casas are in walking distance to spectacular beaches and are surrounded by mature trees with abundant wildlife.

TRAVEL & LOGISTICS

Flights should arrive and leave from Liberia airport in Costa Rica – LIR. Casas Kismet are approximately a 2.5 hour drive from the Liberia Airport to Nosara.

Ground transportation is available and can be arranged by Casas Kismet (for a fee) and waiting for you at the airport in the arrival area for your convenience and piece of mind. As we get closer to the retreat dates and have a better idea of when people are flying in, we will create a spreadsheet for those who will want to share a ride.

Note: You can use a taxi from the airport to Casas Kismet. The price varies depending on how many people share the ride. Prices typically start at $150 (total) for 1-4 people. After the 4th person the price increases.

If you need to spend a night in Costa Rica either on the way there or home due to the flight times, there is a Hilton Hotel near Liberia Airport that comes highly recommended.

Q & A

Is there WiFi?

Yes! All studios and rooms have reliable internet.

Do I need to bring an adapter for electronics?

We have type A & B outlets – standard American outlets. If traveling from Europe, you will need an adapter.

How do I keep my valuables safe?

In rooms safes are available. Do not take your valuables to the beach unless someone can stay with them. Keep your passport away in a safe place when you arrive. It’s a great idea to take a picture of your passport in case of emergency.

What is the weather generally like?

The average temperature in Nosara in December for a typical day ranges from a high of 86°F (30°C) to a low of 76°F (24°C). Some would describe it as very warm with a gentle breeze.

Can my dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Yes! Once you reserve your spot, please e-mail any food allergies, restrictions or preferences as soon as you can prior to the retreat.

Do I need to do a currency exchange?

Almost everywhere you go, USD are accepted. When you use cash, change will be given in Colones (Costa Rican money). We recommend bringing smaller bills (more 10s and 5s) for things around town. Excursions will also require cash, save your larger bills for those. You will also need cash for any ground transportation, gratuities and extras onsite.

How much cash should I bring?

Most everything in Costa Rica is CASH ONLY. This is very important – there are ATMs, but most are not within walking distance and rarely have cash. Even if you can get cash, most machines won’t allow more than $200 withdrawal at a time. We recommend you bring enough cash to cover the following:

  • transportation: to and from airport, to and from excursions, to and from town
  • excursions: average cost – $75
  • extras on site such as snacks/smoothies/drinks, etc.
  • gratuity to drivers/excursion leaders/staff at Casas Kismet (bartender, chefs, housekeeping, groundskeeping) Gratuity to drivers is usually $10 per person for airport transportation, $1 for Tuk Tuks. Gratuity for excursions – $5. 10% gratuity for staff is customary ($80-100 can be given at the end to be divided among the staff)
