Sound Journey with Michael Burke for Thanksgiving

November 24th, Saturday
6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Do you have family in town for Thanksgiving? Bring them in for a special treat. Join us at Peachtree Yoga Center for a Sound Journey with Michael Burke, a sacred sound artist, poet, and a vibrational therapist to take us on a sound journey. This is how Michael himself describes the sound journey:
“Shall we bathe in the unlimited grace of this incredible universe…
touch God through our cells as they vibrate immaculately.
What are you vibrating back to a universe that is dancing with your every cell…
your every fiber… your every string.
Take some time and bathe in this liturgy of limitless love.”

Participants are encouraged to lie down in a comfortable position for them, and are expected to do nothing… This is a time of BEing, not DOing…This is a space where the ability to receive is highly accentuated and we tap into the Divine Consciousness flowering through our every Breath as human beings.. Not human doings.. To unplug for an hour and a half is good for the entire system.. this subtle, yet powerful act of surrendering and allowing creates an energetic flow where homeostasis happens naturally and the feel-good chemicals of our systems are released, so that as we experience the rebuilding of our selves for the 90 minutes we are involved in this, we are rebuilt in a state of Divine health and harmonious communication between the systems that create us and what is created…
Relax, Release, Rejuvenate!!!

Come join Michael at Peachtree on November 24th  6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 11th, Restorative Yoga with Elizabeth (Nix) Smith

Our society tends to overemphasize activity and busyness, creating physical and mental stress. The effects of stress have reached epidemic proportions in this country. Chronic stress can result in an imbalance within our nervous system, which can lead to a host of physical illnesses, both major and minor. Even our yoga practice can often perpetuate an imbalance as we focus always on the doing rather than simply being.

Taking the time each day to relax and renew is essential to living well. Restorative yoga is a useful way of healing one’s body, mind and soul, and of achieving the ultimate aim of yoga – wholeness. Supported by various props and guided through deep breathing and meditative awareness, one experiences the yoga postures as profoundly relaxing and deeply rejuvenating. Or as stated in classical yoga philosophy, a practice that is at once steady and comfortable – the practice of being.

As we emerge from the heaviness of winter into the lightness of spring, please join Elizabeth Nix for this supportive, nurturing afternoon.
