WALKING EACH OTHER HOME

WALKING EACH OTHER HOME

September 21, 1 – 3 p.m.

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to step into a supported, conscious relationship with death & dying? Have you ever nurtured yourself through your fears and uncertainty in the face of grief? In this special workshop, we will practice preparing the body, mind and spirit for these profound life experiences.

Voices of Love, a Threshold choir, sings by invitation at the bedsides of people who are dying and offers songs especially composed to support that journey. In this workshop, we will lovingly engage in gentle, guided contemplations of death, your own and loved ones, and learn grounding techniques for these inevitable life experiences. You can expect breathing and guidance about nervous system regulation, soothing songs, guided meditation, silence & community connection. Your complex feelings are welcome here.

Bring a yoga mat, notebook and an open heart. Questions? Contact Susan Patterson, a PYC community member and Voices of Love singer, at goingtherewithsusan@gmail.com

Investment – $49

Chair Yoga Workshop for Yoga Teachers

Chair Yoga Workshop for Yoga Teachers

August 9, Saturday 9:00 – 12:30 p.m.

  • Are you a yoga teacher in search of new modalities to assist your students?
  • Have you thought of using a chair to add intensity to the practice? (Yes, that’s correct: to make some poses more challenging than what they’d be on the mat).
  • Have you thought of designing your own, self-standing chair yoga program?
  • Would you like to empower and help people to practice wherever they are, in the office or at home, when they cannot afford to travel to a studio?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, then you might want to consider this event.

We are providing you with the opportunity to learn how to teach chair yoga, and achieve all of the above, and more! Join us for a fun and engaging weekend to earn your chair yoga certification.

Among the topics covered, are:

  • How to chose the right poses when addressing a specific problem;
  • How to adapt conventional poses and flow sequences, from mat to chair;
  • How to use additional props to create new variations, when the chair alone is not enough;
  • How to create a complete practice inclusive of asana, pranayama, and mediation that would fit any time budget, and getting down on a mat is not feasible.

Practice hands on teaching chair yoga.

Earn 3.5 contact hours of CE recognized by Yoga Alliance

Receive your hard copy certificate of completion.

Investment – $59

“Anychair Yoga” book and/or DVD are available for purchase, while supplies last.

Solstice Energy Activation

Solstice Energy Activation

Saturday June 21 4 – 5:30 p.m.

We are ENERGY. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Do you feel tired by the end of the day? Or maybe you feel tired when you wake up? If you experience energy depletion, know that you are not alone. Our modern society works hard to make you believe that you need to rely on external tools, such as energy drinks, medicine, drugs, follow certain diets, exercise routines, etc. All it does is redirect your attention from who you are. It makes you believe that you lack something and need to get it from another source.

What if I told you that you don’t lack anything. Everything you need to live your life on Earth you already have in your possession. Yes, it is already within, and you definitely have access to it. BUT with so many limitations that have been placed on us by our parents, society and even ourselves, we completely forget that.

You can wake yourself up to the experience of complete freedom. Freedom from the beliefs and dogmas that somehow made their way into your system of values. Freedom to choose what you believe in, what you choose to do with your life.

Are you ready to activate your own energy, that lies dormant within you? It is not for everyone. You have to be ready! How do you know if you are ready? If you somehow found your way to this message, it means that your Spirit brought you here, and you are ready.

Join me for Energy activation during this Summer Solstice, an event powerful in itself that will lend its potency to our group practice.

Investment – $35

Partner Yoga Workshop

Sunday, March 30th 2:30 – 5 p.m.

Qualifies for 3 CE hours

Partner Yoga is an intentional, fun, and revitalizing practice that invites communication and love between the pair. Through specific asanas (poses), the partners are encouraged to go deeper in their yoga both physically and energetically. By connecting two bodies through asana, each individual has the opportunity to better understand themselves and each other on and off the mat. Two of the key principles of partner yoga are communication and safety. Here, participants will learn how to establish both of these key principles in their personal practice and with a partner. You will learn how to not only better communicate with yourself, but with your partner as well. These skills transfer to all aspects of life, as we are in constant interaction with others. That said, Partner Yoga is an inspiring practice that enhances the meaning and depth of our relationships to others and ourselves.

Ilona will lead an exploratory practice that allows the participants to try new variations of the asanas practiced all the time. In this workshop, you will learn how to not only practice partner yoga but guide others in the practice safely as well. RYTs can gain 3 CEUs through YA upon personal request.
