Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Tanya is a true southern spirit. She has enjoyed movement in all forms since childhood and co-owned a fitness/ weekend wear store for over a decade. As an avid runner and crafter, Tanya began to notice a shift in her joint health – particularly in her hands and feet. After confirming a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, she began changing her workouts from running to walking and from crafting to yoga. Through the practice of yoga, pranayama, and meditation, Tanya has learned to control pain and improve joint health. Taking her yoga practice to the next level, under the guidance of Graham Fowler and the mentors of Peachtree Yoga Center, Tanya became 200 hour certified in Spring of 2014. She enjoys sharing her knowledge of nutrition and yoga to help others gain awareness of their bodies and apply what’s learned in the studio to their everyday lives.
